Thanks for the recommendations! A few of those have been on my to-read list so I'm glad to hear that you thought they were worthwhile. And hearing that you didn't read much when your kids were young makes me feel better about not reading as much... though I do still love it and do it as much as life allows.

Those both sound excellent. I have heard of the Furman book, but haven't read it. Sounds like I ought to add it to my list...although my hands are less full than they used to be...in a way :-) Thanks for the recommendations!!

I really appreciated the truthful nitty gritty of a recovering perfectionist in As Soon As I Fell: A Memoir. Kay Bruner does a beautiful job of walking the reader through her mire and to a place of recognizing God's grace consistently available for daily life!! I am just about finished with Treasuring Christ When Your Hands Are Full by Gloria Furman. It was a wonderful gospel focused look at the work of mothering to which God has called me. Still reciting some of those memorized children's books, but grateful for a few moments, occasionally when I don't fall instantly asleep when I open a book, to enjoy some grown up reading.
