Mystery Injury

By shauna 2 Comments

Once upon a time, but not that long ago.. I was cleaning up dishes to the tune of all kinds of boy-ish commotion in the basement. It was that borderline kind of commotion where after every slap-like noise I flinched and waited to hear someone bawling or pounding up the stairs. Instead, the slaps and whaps were followed by silence, the kind induced by riotous laughter. I peeked down to see all three boys doubled over laughing. The couch was tipped over, draped in … [Read more...]

Not What I Was

This beautiful artwork was created by the very talented Julie Chen. Please visit her store and gallery here. I ought to speak with ever increasing love. But I am not what I ought to be. I wish to exude patience. But I am not what I wish to be. I hope to be an excellent ambassador of Christ. But as of yet, I am not even what I hope to be. HI THERE!

I’m Shauna, and I help worn-out Christians find permanent rest and relief by retelling gospel stories that highlight Jesus’ kindness toward ordinary people like us.

In my books and on this blog, I weave history, theology, and fictional detail into a fresh retelling of familiar Bible stories. I started writing them because I needed them. When I shared my stories, people said they made the Bible come to life.

If you could use some permanent rest and relief, download my free Bible story devotional.
