Every other month or so I like to drop you a note with a behind-the-screens update that won’t be posted on my blog or the web.
A Gift (Coming Soon!)
Today is Ash Wednesday and my youngest son had questions about his friends who arrived at school with the mark of the cross on their foreheads. Why don’t we do that? What does it mean?
I explained it as a visible reminder that Jesus was the sacrifice who made our friendship with God possible. I wasn’t raised in a tradition that practiced Lent or Ash Wednesday, but I appreciate those reminders of what Christ has done.
God knew we would need reminders. That’s why He instituted festivals, meals, and weeks of celebration and remembrance. Two thousand years later Christians still celebrate the Lord’s Supper, and we do it in remembrance of Christ.
We’re just weeks away from celebrating His resurrection, and as we look toward Easter, I am preparing a little gift for you! I hope it will be a reminder of the rest and relief found in Christ, and I’ll email you as soon as it’s ready.
An Update
Last June I shared the details of my upcoming book, Remarkable Faith: When Jesus Marveled at the Faith of Unremarkable People. Over the past few months and by God’s grace, I have finished the manuscript and reviewed the publisher’s edits! I received news last week that the publication date has been pushed out to July 11, which only means Remarkable Faith will be available to you as a summer read rather than a spring read 🙂 If you’d like to reserve your copy, you can click here (affiliate link), or search for “Shauna Letellier Remarkable Faith” on BarnesandNoble.com, Amazon.com, or ChristianBook.com.
May you remember today, and every day, that Jesus has finished the work of saving us, and it is our joy to rest in it.
