Click here to start living braver! When Doing Nothing is Actually Something

By shauna 7 Comments

I’ve just finished reading Kathi Lipp’s new book I Need Some Help Here. I had the privilege of contributing a “Story from the Trenches” in the chapter entitled…gulp…"When My Child is Lacking Character.” (If you’d like a front row seat to what happens in our vehicle during our 15 minute commute to and from school, you can buy the book by clicking HERE). Need Some Help? She’s addressed many tough parenting topics, most of which she’s slogged through first-hand. But one particular … [Read more...]

Friendship is Born of…Blogging?

By shauna Leave a Comment

“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: What! You too? I thought I was the only one.” ~ C.S. Lewis The quotable Lewis summarizes what has been fleshed this blogosphere and in real life conversations with my real (as opposed to virtual) friends. For instance, the day all three of my boys went to school, I sang the Hallelujah Chorus in my head. It was like an involuntary reflex. Now, that doesn't mean I don't love those boys, but it does mean I'm not going to … [Read more...]

HI THERE!

I’m Shauna, and I help worn-out Christians find permanent rest and relief by retelling gospel stories that highlight Jesus’ kindness toward ordinary people like us.

In my books and on this blog, I weave history, theology, and fictional detail into a fresh retelling of familiar Bible stories. I started writing them because I needed them. When I shared my stories, people said they made the Bible come to life.

If you could use some permanent rest and relief, download my free Bible story devotional.
