You're familiar with the YouVersion Bible App, right?More than likely, it's on your smartphone right now because it's used by more than 361 MILLION devices. I use the app almost daily to look up a verse, listen to scripture, or participate in one of their daily devotional reading plans. It's all free. Moments with the Savior
In 1998, before basic nouns were preceded by the vowels i and e (iPhone, iBooks, email, ebooks), I picked up a hard cover book in an actual book store. I'd been searching for a new devotional. Not by Sight
You know how it happens on the web…you click on an interesting title, then read a moving article, investigate the author’s bio, peruse the books he or she has written, and before you know it, 90 minutes have passed, and you can’t remember how you ended up clicking “buy now” on Amazon. The Boys in the Boat, by Daniel James Brown and All the Light We Cannot See, by Anthony Doerr were my uncontested … [Read more...]
The Resolution I Kept: Year Two
Admittedly, this is a rather ho-hum post. Confirmed as such by my first editor who only tells me the truth about everything I write. His bold and witty truth-telling has saved you from reading some stupid, boring, wordy stuff. And he may not approve of this snoozey post. But I’m politely ignoring him. Because of my poor history of keeping New Year’s resolutions I’ve pretty much stopped making any. Except this one: Keep track of books I read. And when a resolution is kept … [Read more...]
